This month, our client, Bain Capital Ventures’ portfolio company, ABILITY Network, a market-leading healthcare technology company, announced their agreement to merge with IVANS, the largest provider of secure insurance data communication services to the US Healthcare and Property & Casualty Insurance community.
There were a few other deals this month as well. Mostly they were middle-market transactions as strategics continued to focus on their fundamental strengths. As examples, Computershare divested their stake in Solium Capital, allowing the Company to focus on their core investor and shareholder services and solutions, while Euromoney Institutional Investor acquired Insider Publishing, a business information publisher highly complementary to their existing offerings. Strategic players continue to pay a premium to acquire high-growth companies with scalable technologies that enhance their core competencies.
Some notable recent deals include:
- NASDAQ OMX (NASDAQ:NDAQ) agreed to acquire the eSpeed Platform from BGC Partners (NASDAQ:BGCP) for up to $1.2Bn;
